I'm submitting my written testimony to strongly object Hawaii County Police entering into any MOU with ICE:; I live in Holualoa and I have been learning about the recent ICE raids in the Kona area. Whenever I hear such stories, I cannot help but think of what the Jewish people had to suffer during the WWII. We have all been working hard to never repeat such atrocities. But now, history repeats again. It is notjust migrant workers who are at risk. We're starting to hear stories about legal residents who are also facing similar situations. United States used to be one of the leaders in respecting and protecting human rights. The recent actions are complete opposite. I believe that the state of Hawai'i is in need of migrant workers in many industries. We all must strive every day to do the right thing as humans. We must treat each other with respect and with kindness. Please do not fall to the power of the current regime and do the right thing. Please do not approve or accept ICE MOU. Thank you for letting me share my voice in the written testimony. I trust that you will all do the right thing. Mahalo Noriko Morisaki Donna Resident of Holualoa, Hawai'i Island.
