My name is Ku'ulani Auld. I live in Kona, Hawai'i and I am the Archive Specialist at the Kona Historical Society. I am testifying today in support of CRF Resolution No. 118. The Kona Historical Society's mission is to preserve the history of Kona - to enrich, inspire, and inform our community and visitors. We do this through collecting, preserving, researching, interpreting, and disseminating the history of Kona. In furtherance of our mission, we are proud to partner with exhibit creator Leandra Rouse to present The Kona Beekeeping Legacy Project. Funding from the County of Hawai'i Contingency Relief Funds will support the documentary co -produced by Leandra Rouse and photographer and cinematographer Andrew Richard Hara. This film will be the first professional documentary about Kona's beekeeping industry. At the conclusion of the exhibit, this documentary will be donated to the Kona Historical Society Archives, where we will incorporate it into our collection and make it available to members of the public in Hawaii and globally, to support their research into the history of Kona. This documentary and supporting research material will be the first of its kind in our archives, preserving valuable stories of Kona for future generations. Financial support of this project, including the documentary, is central to Kona Historical Society's mission and I believe aligns with the County's goals as well. I encourage you to vote yes on CRF Resolution No. 118 Thank you for this opportunity to testify. Ku'ulani Auld •1 kef. De.a 2 2U2
