To the Members of the County Council:
I am writing in support of Resolution No. 118 25 to credit funds to Kona Historical Society in
support of the Beekeeping Video which is a vital component of the Beekeeper Legacy Exhibit
that will be open at Kona Historical Society in Kalukalu, from April through July. We welcome
the public, visitors and kama'aina alike, as well as have many school field trips that have been
scheduled.
This is our first newly created exhibit since 2020 when our organization was crippled by the
covid pandemic and protocols that were set into place to protect the community. We have
been very slowly rebuilding and this is now an opportunity for us to open our doors to our
community, once again, to a new exhibit with never seen phots, video, stories and more. Our
organization has been diligently working on this exciting project which highlights South Kona
agriculture and the unique business and passion of beekeeping. We extend an invitation to you
all to come and experience this unique and compelling exhibit. I humbly request you vote in
support of this resolution to allocate the $5,000 funds to Kona Historical Society for our
beekeeping video.
