Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 41,reports as follows:
Bill No. 41, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication No. 210, dated
March 28, 2025, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended, the operating budget for the County of
Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill decreases the appropriation in the Transfer to Housing Fund account($451,221); and
appropriates the same to the HOME Program Income Repayment account.
Office of Housing and Community Development Division Manager Royce Shiroma was present in
Chambers.
Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz recalled a similar measure and asked if this is a similar
transfer. Mr. Shiroma replied that it was, but this measure is being put forward to place the funds in
the appropriate account. Ms. Kierkiewicz asked if this is purely a housekeeping measure. Mr. Shiroma
confirmed.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 41, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
