Subject: Vote NO to more $'s for Animal Control
Dear Honorable Council,
I am writing regarding Matt Runnels of Animal control asking for even more money for Animal Control
when he has done ABSOLUTELY nothing with the money already raised and allocated from past
added millions.
You made a huge mistake hiring him because his wife wouldn't take the job at the zoo unless you
hired her INEXPERIENCED husband for the job as head of Animal control -- a former Disney animal
carer/trainer is not enough experience to run a multi -million dollar government agency!!
It's clear that he has proven himself INNEPT over two years and still no improvements in Animal
Control when what you really need is to FIRE him and hire an experienced local out of the pool of
experienced people you ignored and by-passed in order to hire this former animal trainer with NO
EXPERIENCE of ANY KIND in being an animal control officer. let alone the head of the program.
Throwing more money at this man and the Animal control department is and will be ridiculous,
especially in these tough times.
PLEASE RE-EVALUATE, do NOT give allocate more budget to animal control and FIRE Matt
Runnels IMMEDiATELY, if possible, but whatever you do, please don't waste more of our tax dollars
on this inefficient department headed by an obvious unexperienced off island person who has done
practically NOTHING since his take over of the department. We are not better off than we were when
he took over and yet he wants more money?! Stop it!
Neither the police department nor Matt Runnels have proven a good fit for taking care of the animal
control issues on our island, but we, THE PEOPLE, have been paying more and more money to a
department with ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY and ENDLESS promises, with no improved results!!
Stop this maddness! No more funds to Animal control and FIRE MATT RUNNELS!!
Thank you for hearing my plea, although I sense it will be on deaf ears since you hired the useless
guy and his answer has been continuous excuses with no improvements for the people of this
community!
Why would just give him more money to burn when he has no track record YET in his tenure so fad?
Tons of excuses and NO ACTION RUNNELS MUST GO, but until then NOT A PENNY MORE TO
ANIMAL CONTROL until we can get the services we had in past, and which was given an extra
million a couple years ago and still no results.
STOP THE GRIFT!! Make ANIMAL CONTROL and MATT RUNNELS accountable NOW! Don't throw
more money at this innept leader! Stop throwing more money at this useless guy who only got the job

and hire at a higher price than was offered because of his wife forcing you to hire him if you wanted
her.
In my opinion, which, at least for now, we are still allowed to voice, MATT RUNNEL is an
INEFFECTIVE USELESS OFF ISLE HIRE GRIFTING our island. NO MORE TAX DOLLARS to
Animal Control until the community gets some services rather than endless excuses and ZERO
SERVICES, but still lots of DEATHS from dog attacks.
