Subject: Second road for Waikoloa
Aloha,
I can't believe I am writing this emaiL. It has been decades of warnings and recommendations for a
second road to be built out of Waikoloa village. I have lived in the viLlage since 1989 and have 3
generations living here. I've seen be village grow exponentially, inctuding residential homes and a
school.
We are in a critical location, framed by dry pasture land on all sides. Not only do we need a second road
to help get residents and school children OUT in case of emergency, but have we considered what might
happen ifthe fire itself came and blocked our current road out? Then what?
To keep us SAFE and to prevent opening the county up for huge liabiLity, I firmly request and askthatyou
include a second road in the budget. Our tax do[Lars should pay for roads. We shouldn't have some
impending developer pay for this. We need it NOW and not maybe in 10-15-20 years. Please make this a
top priority. As a mother to school age children, daughter to seniors, and a small business owner who
lays a ton of taxes, ptease make this a priority. It's not only the right thing to do, it's negligent not to do
SO.
