Subject: Waikoloa Wildfire Safety
To me this is a matter of a life and death situation. It is a matter of safety for people, animals, structures
of homes and businesses.
Thirty-four years I have beenT a resident of Waikoloa Village and have evacuated three times due
to approaching grass fires. My home is over the ridge from the stables. I am grateful for the talent and
expertise of our firemen.and volunteers that assist them. The village has grown immensely, which will
add to the hazard of evacuating all the residents in a timely fashion. Truly, a cul-de-sac village is a safety
hazard design and is therefore in great need of several roads to evacuate in a timely fashion.
It is demoralizing to have to beg our elected officials to allocate money for something that is many, many
years overdue.
