Re: Operating Budget
The County of Hawaii has been awarded $1,500,000 from the State of Hawaii Department
Business, Economic Development & Tourism (DBEDT). These funds will be utilized for the
development of the Kukuiola Permanent Supportive Housing Project in Kailua Kona.
Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement to accept these funds. Also enclosed is a bill
for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $1,500,000.

The DBEDT has been awarded a total of $6,631,950.56 for infrastructure development resulting in affordable
housing from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The County of Hawai'i share is
$1,500,000 for this grant award which has been allocated toward the development of the Kukuiola
Permanent Supportive Housing Project in Kailua Kona,
