Waikoloa second road
Aloha Council. Members,
I am writing as a homeowner in WaikoLoa Village. In the 20+ years I've owned in the Vittage, there have
been some ctose catts with witdfires... too ctose. There is an inclescribabLe feeLing when you watch fire,
uncontroLtably fueted by raging winds, push towards the town you caLt home and there's nothing you can
dObut watch iOhorror.
I strongly urge you to altocate the funds necessary in the 2025 FY budget to research, design, and
start the criticat construction of a second, permanent access road for Waikotoa Vittage. Our town has
grown considerably in both size and population, and the Huiu Street emergency egress wilt be
inadequate ino|ife'ur-daath'panicked evacuation.

fast the wind can blow here and that normat firefighting measures are no match for that kind of raging
inferno. Our town can be burned to the ground just Like Lahaina, and the toss of human Life can be in the
thousands. Please don't cletay any Longer. PLease buRd a second road. Our homes and Lives depend on it.
