Subject: Waikoloa's Second Arterial Road
I am writing to submit my testimony in support of funding for the initial engineering of Waikoloa's second
arterial road, as part of the 2025 Capital Budget. This project is crucial for the growth and development of
our community, and 1 strongly believe it will address critical transportation needs for our residents and
visitors alike.
The need for a second arterial road has been an ongoing concern for many of us here in Waikoloa. With
the increase in population and tourism, the current road system is becoming increasingly congested and
strained. Having a second arterial road will not only improve traffic flow but will also enhance safety,
provide better access to key areas in the community, and support future economic growth.
I appreciate that Mayor Alameda has heard our concerns, and though the critical funding for the initial
engineering was not included in the draft budget, we now have an opportunity to make ourvoices heard
once again. I urge the Hawaii County Council to prioritize this project by including funding for the initial
engineering in the 2025 Capital Budget.
Please ensure that this vital infrastructure project is given the attention it deserves, and thank you for
your continued support in making this vision a reality for our community.
