JNZ-4 Of 0, <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />�rE•OF •N►•M <br />RESOLUTION NO. 143 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO DOMESTIC <br />VIOLENCE HURTS ANIMALS AND PEOPLE FOR ITS HUMANE EDUCATION <br />INITIATIVE. <br />WHEREAS, Domestic Violence Hurts Animals and People (DVHAP) is a 501(c)(3) <br />nonprofit organization dedicated to bring harmony to families and give a voice to those who <br />cannot speak by providing awareness campaigns and educating children on fostering positive <br />relationships with animals; and <br />WHEREAS, DVHAP is requesting funds to assist with expenses for humane education <br />curricula, a printer, paper, ink cartridges, water bowls, treats, towels, leashes, harnesses, and fuel <br />for transportation, to provide humane education lessons to elementary school -aged children to <br />teach them that animals have feelings, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, <br />improving, or promoting the interests of educational concerns and public health and welfare of <br />the people and the environment; and <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that, in <br />accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br />amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 are hereby transferred to the <br />Animal Control and Protection Agency to provide a grant to DVHAP for the expenses and <br />purposes identified in "Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br />reference, in the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $2,055 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />010.239.5239.01 Animal Control and Protection Agency <br />Animal Control <br />115 Misc.
