A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO IKAIKAMAULOA YOUTH
FOUNDATION INC. TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE KONA GOLD BOXING CLUB’S TEACH TO REACH INITIATIVE.
WHEREAS, Ikaikamauloa Youth Foundation Inc. (IYF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to provide youth with opportunities for engagement that focus on resilience, empowerment,
and health and wellness education at its Kona Gold Boxing Club in Kailua-Kona; and
WHEREAS, IYF is requesting funds to assist with expenses for conditioning equipment, punching shields, a professional fight and gym timer, resistance training supplies, speed and agility
training equipment, ab wheels, gloves, protective gear, tape, gauze, and punching bags, to provide boxing and fitness training, increase self-confidence, discipline, and perseverance,
which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of culture and the arts, educational concerns, needs of the poor, youth, the aged, those with
physical or emotional disabilities, public health and welfare of the people and the environment, victims of crimes and victims of health or social crises; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaiʻi County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief
funds from Council District 8 are hereby transferred to the the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to IYF for the expenses and purposes identified in “Exhibit A,” a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below:
