A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NA PULAPULA INC.,
FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE KEAʻAU FAMILY FUN DAY.
WHEREAS, Na Pulapula Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created to help enrich the community through family-centered events and provide memorable experiences that bring
people together to foster a sense of unity; and
WHEREAS, Na Pulapula Inc., is hosting the Kea‘au Family Fun Day, an annual Easter event that was held at the Herbert Shipman Park on April 13, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Kea‘au Family Fun Day was free to the general public with fun activities like egg hunts, waterslides, bounce houses, face painting, and picture taking with the Easer Bunny;
and
WHEREAS, Na Pulapula Inc., is requesting reimbursement for portable toilet rental, candies, items for games and contests, a face painter, and special-duty police officers; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that provide drug-free and alcohol-free events for the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to Na Pulapula Inc., for expenses relating to the Keaʻau Family Fun Day.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
