A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FRIENDS OF THE
PALACE THEATER FOR THE 2025 EASTER EXTRAVAGANZA.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Palace Theater (FOTPT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to revitalize, restore, and sustain the historic Palace Theater as a venue that
educates, entertains, and inspires our diverse community; and
WHEREAS, FOTPT is assisting the Department of Parks and Recreation with the 2025 Easter Extravaganza, a free community event on April 18, 2025, at the Dr. Francis F. C. Wong Stadium;
and
WHEREAS, FOTPT is requesting funds for the rental of a jumping castle and to purchase bags of cotton candy; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support organizations and programs that provide drug-free and alcohol-free events, like the Easter Extravaganza, for
the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant
to the Friends of the Palace Theater for the 2025 Easter Extravaganza.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
