Through WAI, 'Ewalu Industries serves as a work -based learning (WBL) intermediary —connecting schools, students, and local industry to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real -world career skills. Since the adoption of WBIL is still a relatively new concept for many schools on Hawai'i Island, this funding represents a critical investment in building the systems and partnerships that make career -connected education and leadership opportunities possible. The requested grant will support essential infrastructure for our program, including a database, program supplies, and a digital media specialist to help tell the story of this work and inspire wider engagement. Through activities like job shadowing, industry mentorship, and paid internships, our initiative prepares youth for successful futures. We are deeply grateful for the council's support of this timely and transformative effort.
