r \LW; COUNTY OF HAWAII f,. .=°:<:#;•: STATE OF HAWAII 1▪TE G• F•H►� RESOLUTION NO. 17 6 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD PLACE OF PUNA TO SUPPORT ITS ANCHOR POINT YOUTH CENTER. WHEREAS,the Neighborhood Place of Puna is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is empower families and communities in Hawai`i County by building strong foundations through healthy relationships that value each person's uniqueness; and WHEREAS,the Neighborhood Place of Puna manages a facility called Anchor Point Youth Center as a drop-in facility dedicated to assisting youth, aged 14 to 24,who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless; and WHEREAS,the Neighborhood Place of Puna is requesting funds to cover expenses for food,hygiene items, a desktop computer and desk, garden and art supplies, and blankets for its Anchor Point Youth Center; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support youth programs that promote public safety, education, and responsible lifestyle choices in alcohol- and drug-free environments; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Neighborhood Place of Puna to support its Anchor Point Youth Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
