WHEREAS,Homeless Task Force (HTF) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that is dedicated to decreasing the homeless count in West Hawai`i by providing individuals with a productive pathway back into the mainstream society through safe haven options of housing, drug and alcohol rehabilitation referrals, and return home to their families of origin; and WHEREAS, HTF is requesting funds to assist with expenses for food cards, clothing, hygiene kits, and taxi and ride-share fares to encourage unhoused individuals to move from the homeless lifestyle and transition into safe haven options to decrease the homeless count, which will serve a public purpose by benefiting, improving, or promoting the interests of needs of the poor,youth, the aged, those with physical or emotional disabilities, and victims of health or social crises; now,therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that, in accordance with section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 are hereby transferred to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to HTF for the expenses and purposes identified in"Exhibit A," a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, in the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $9,000 OUT AND FROM: ' 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $9,000 CREDITED TO: 010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $9,000 Public Programs 115 Misc.
