A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FRIENDS OF THE
PALACE THEATER FOR THE 2025 EASTER EXTRAVAGANZA.
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Palace Theater (FPT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to revitalize, restore, and sustain the Historic Palace Theater as a venue that
educates, entertains, and inspires our diverse community; and
WHEREAS, FPT is partnering with the Department of Parks and Recreation to host the 2025 Easter Extravaganza, which is a free community event that will be held on April 18, 2025, at Dr.
Francis F. C. Wong Stadium and will include an Easter egg hunt and other keiki-friendly activities.; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that provide drug-free and alcohol-free events for the community; and
WHEREAS, the FPT is requesting funds for candy to stuff Easter eggs for the Easter egg hunt; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaiʻi County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the FHPT for the 2025 Easter Extravaganza.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
