REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: May 6, 2025 Re: Comm.No. 239/Res.No. 140-25 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:00 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 140-25, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 140-25,transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication <br /> No. 239, dated April 17, 2025, approves the award of funds to Aloha Animal Alliance Hawai`i by <br /> the Animal Control and Protection Agency. <br /> This resolution provides $50,000 of grant funds to Aloha Animal Alliance Hawai`i for their cat spay <br /> and neuter initiatives. <br /> Animal Control and Protection Administrator Matthew Runnells and Finance Director <br /> Diane Nakagawa were in attendance. <br /> Committee Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi asked Mr. Runnells and Ms. Nakagawa if they supported the <br /> transfer of these funds to this organization. Mr. Runnels stated that he believed that these funds are a <br /> great opportunity to help the community.
