Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 49, reports as follows:
Bill No. 49, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication No. 238, dated
April 17, 2025, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants—2025 Pathways to Removing Obstacles
Housing account ($1,500,000); and appropriates the same to the 2025 Pathways to Removing
Obstacles Housing account,to be used for the development of the Kukuiola Permanent Supportive
Housing Project in Kailua-Kona.
Committee Member Rebecca Villegas commented in support of this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 49, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
