Your Policy Committee on Planning, Land Use, and Economic Development,to which was
referred Bill No. 45, reports as follows:
Bill No. 45, transmitted by Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi via Communication No.
234, dated April 4, 2025, amends Chapter 14,Article 10, Section 14-65, of the Hawai`i County
Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), relating to designated exceptional trees.
The bill amends the tax map key (TMK) and location of the exceptional trees listing for the
"Chinese Weeping Banyan"to 2-2-29:08 Kilauea Avenue.
Committee Member Onishi introduced the bill to update the Chinese Weeping Banyan's TMK
and correct the spelling of Kilauea Avenue.
Your Policy Committee on Planning,Land Use, and Economic Development is in accord with
the purpose and intent of Bill No. 45, and recommends its passage on first reading.
