Re: Resolution to grant an easement
Executive order No. 1223 set aside real property identified as Tax Map Key (3) 2-4-002-001 and
Executive Order 1641 set aside real property identified as Tax Map Key 2-4-002-128, which are
portions of the Hilo Municipal Golf Course and the Kawailani Fire Station Site,respectively,
situated at Waiakea, South Hilo, County and State of Hawai`i. The Gas Company,LLC has
requested an easement from the County of Hawai`i for tank and underground pipeline purposes.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Finance Director or the Director of Public Works to
= grant easement to the Gas Company,LLC in accordance with section 2-111(2), Hawai`i County
Code at a cost of$7,496.41 for the 65 years.

A. REQUEST:
Please prepare County Council submittal to grant a 65 year term easement for gas tank and underground
pipeline purposes to The Gas Company, LLC.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Gas Company, LLC (TGC) has existing facilities that require easements over tax map keys (3) 2-4-
002:001 and 128. TGC's facilities were allowed under an easement that expired on June 5, 2020. TGC
requires the execution of a new grant of easement to allow for continued gas service to the surrounding
areas and have agreed to a 65 year term easement at a cost of$7,496.41.
