RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR MULTI-YEAR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS FOR THE OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into multi-year employment contracts to implement and manage Homelessness and Housing Programs; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into multi-year employment contracts for one (1) Program Oversight Manager, one (1) Special Program Manager and one (1) Program Data Manager
in the Office of Housing and Community Development; and
WHEREAS, these employment contracts will be executed for two (2) years; and
WHEREAS, these employment contracts will be funded by seventy- five percent of the difference in revenue from the residential tier one real property tax rate to the residential tier
two real property tax rate as authorized in Ordinance 22-26; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into multi-year employment contracts as indicated above, for the Office of Housing and Community Development.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the term of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Department of Finance and the Office of
Housing and Community Development.
