Planning

I wish to oppose the nomination of Alexandria Lexie Ayers to the Leeward Planning commission.
Leeward Planning has to make crucial decisions regards to how our land development affects land
planning.
Per Josh Greens statement at the recent SB 1396, representing the most significant climate change and
reduce the risk of future to protect our aina.
"It is foundational to our ability to provide a safe and secure Hawai'i for our children, our residents, our
visitors and the Environment."
Senate President Ron Kouchi cited the importance of tourism to Hawai'i economy and the need to
protect the islands Natural Beauty.
"The greatest thing that we have to Sell is the people of Hawai'i and the Aloha Spirit", he said."But what
makes our people so special is the Beautiful Landscape with which we stand.And it's challenging in •
finding the way to protect our natural resources. But without the quality of the natural resource,then the
beauty of our people will Not Shine" as brightly as it has, and it is imperative that we find ways to ensure
that we take care of our natural resources, and there are no easy choices.

Leeward planning deals with much of the Special Management Area, of the Shores and lands below the
Highway.
PS. I hope someday we the public get to vote for the Leeward planners, and also hope someday they can
get paid.There are a lot of good concerned people who would be willing to take positions but can't afford
to work for free.
And another concern is if it gets to public we get see anyone and all who applies to be a Leeward
planning commissioner.
