Re: Nomination of David F. Bruno of Council District 9 to the Board of Ethics

Aloha Council Members,
We have been asked to submit a statement regarding Mayor Alameda's nomination of
David F. Bruno to fill a vacant seat on the Hawaii County Board of Ethics.
We have known David Bruno since he moved into our Waikoloa neighborhood in 2023.
Since that time, we have had many opportunities to engage in lengthy conversations
with David about our experiences, goals and our mutual desire to honor, respect and
give back to our community. We have found David to be a man who consistently
demonstrates integrity in both personal and professional interactions, is steadfastly
committed to giving back to our community and this island and is generous with his time
and expertise.
We have also had the pleasure of listening to David and his mother, Ellen, talk story
about his family's strong ties to Hilo and Hawaii Island. It is without question that David
Bruno possesses the attributes for this position---the knowledge and experience, the
moral character, the commitment to serving---along with his unwavering respect and
love for Hawaii. We strongly encourage you to confirm him for this position.
