Hawai'i County Board of Ethics. This recommendation was previously provided to the Governmental
Operations, and External Affairs Committee, and I continue to support David for this position.

To whom it may concern,
I'm writing in support of David Bruno's application to become a member of the Hawai'i County Board
of Ethics.
I have known David for nearly 25 years in both a work and then personal context. We met as
attorney colleagues at the Seattle law firm of K&L Gates where we practiced. After many years I was
fortunate enough to be able to hire David after I moved to Lighthouse where David is still engaged in
e-discovery analytics.
While at times I have been his manager and evaluated his efforts on behalf of our mutual clients, I
have always known David as a trusted partner at work who helped me establish and elevate the
teams we worked on. I know him to be a wonderful team player, teacher, and also a steadfast
friend.

David would be a tremendous addition to any ethics board (or any organization) as he consistently
shows enthusiasm for his work and a consistent and deep thoughtfulness about his clients and the
} company. David repeatedly brings dedicated effort to ensuring the success of both. Additionally, I
know that outside of work David is equally committed to volunteer positions, including in a Board
context.
I would be happy to answer any specific questions but give my full support of David's application. I
am certain the Board would be enhanced with his membership.
