RE: Testimony in Support of Bill 44/Com.232 with clarification -�
Amends Cahpter 19,Article 10, Section 19-89, of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2016 Edition,As Amended)Relating to Exemptions for Certain
Hawaiian Homes Property, and Other Agencies

The Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club strongly supports the Hawai`i County Council adopting the
above Bill with the following clarification:
Hawaiian Homesteaders on Kaua`i pay no real property taxes as to Residential Agricultural, and
Pastoral awards. Some Homesteaders, we are told,pay upwards of$6,000.00. We support the
position that Hawaiian Homesteaders pay no real property taxes.
