Waimea Nui is a Federally Registered Homestead&Beneficiary Association, "HBA"with the Secretary of the
Department of the Interior. We represent lands in the Council Districts of 1, 2 & 9, as identified in our territory
of Federal Trust Lands of Waimea Nui's governing documents. We operate our membership through Waimea
Hawaiian Homesteaders' Association, inc.
We kindly make the request that Bill 44 be passed out of the Finance Committee, and supported by the full
council. We represent in access of 563 DHHL leases and have been involved in efforts to bring this into
existence for over two decades.
We are humbly asking for parity with other Counties who have addressed this issue.
