Subject: Support for Resolution 137-25 °`'
Aloha Madam Chair and committee members,
The Sierra Club of Hawai'i, Hawai'i Island Group supports Resolution 137-25 for the reasons provided in
the"Whereas" clauses.
HIG has two questions:
Does the Resolution include location of water wells, number of backup pumps for each well, and
updated water analysis for each well?
Does Resolution also include reporting for private water wells and systems?
Mahalo for addressing this important issue at a time when average rainfall has been decreasing for many
years and the withdrawal from and recharge of aquifers is becoming increasingly problematic.
