Subject: Written Testimony Opposing Bill 47
Dear Chairperson and Members of the Committee,
I am writing to respectfully submit my testimony in strong opposition to Bill 47.
Amongthe most troublingaspects of this proposal is the requirement for vacation rental operators to publiclyregister

their properties—under threat of exorbitant fines of up to$10,000 for noncompliance. This mandate appears to
prioritize enforcement convenience over fairness, all while resting on no clear data or justification that such a public
registry is necessary or effective.
Requiring operators to publicly disclose their participation exposes private individuals to unnecessary risk, privacy
concerns, and potential harassment, without offering any demonstrated public benefit.Additionally, attempting to
enforce yet-to-be-determined rules by creating a registry first, without a clear regulatory framework in place,is both
premature and irresponsible.
I urge the committee to reconsider the impacts of Bill 47 on small property owners and to reject this invasive and
unjustified provision.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Andrew Williamson .
