4OJ16tY Oi k,�7i•. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII iAk-' A •I STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �tf OF.N <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 195 25 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH <br /> KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br /> RELATED TO THE KOHALA COMMUNITY REUNION. <br /> WHEREAS, established in 2000,the Kohala Community Reunion has been an <br /> opportunity for community members to gather in camaraderie, share stories about the rich history <br /> of the region,participate in activities, engage in self-guided tours, and learn from presentations, <br /> including by County representatives on government initiatives; and <br /> WHEREAS, an important component of the Kohala Community Reunion is the valuable <br /> data collection conducted during the event, which includes surveys on demographic information, <br /> housing,health, and wellness; and <br /> WHEREAS,the North Kohala Community Resource Center, a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization, is working in partnership with the planners of the Kohala Community Reunion to <br /> organize the zero-waste event to be held on July 4—July 6,2025,with an estimated attendance <br /> of 2,000 current and former residents; and <br /> WHEREAS,the North Kohala Community Resource Center is requesting funding <br /> assistance to help secure a sound system, chairs, and tents for the Community Reunion; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports this project as it is in keeping <br /> with the goals and objectives of the department to support public programs that provide Hawai`i <br /> County residents with activities in a safe, drug-and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used;now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to assist with <br /> expenses related to the Kohala Community Reunion. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
