SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Resolution No. 141-25; RESOLUTION APPROVING
THE AWARD OF FUNDS TO THE HAWAI`I ISLAND HUMANE SOCIETY
BY THE ANIMAL CONTROL AND PROTECTION AGENCY.
Transmitted herewith are proposed amendments to Resolution No. 141-25. The proposed
amendments are shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No.
141-25;material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be inserted is underscored.
1. The fourth WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows:
"WHEREAS,the Animal Control and Protection Agency wishes to provide $50,000 to
the Hawai`i Island Humane Society[;] to pay for project cost items listed in"Exhibit A"attached
hereto. now,therefore,"
2. Resolution No. 141-25 is further amended by attaching Exhibit A to read as follows:
"EXHIBIT A
Applicant/Provider Hawaii Island Humane Society
Project Name Animal Adoption and Transport Grant
Total Funds Requested Award Amount: $50,000
Project Cost Items Funds Detailed Description of Items
Basic Intake Expenses $25,000 Basic initial intake expenses per pet transferred in from the County
of Hawai`i Animal Control and Protection Agency.
Defined as routine diagnostic testing,vaccines, dewormers.
$50 per animal to cover 500 animals.
Transport Fees $9,000 Transport fees for off-island transports of adoptable pets.
Fees include airline fee,health certificates,rabies vaccines.
$360 per animal to cover 25 animals.

Veterinary Expenses Visiting relief veterinarian for community veterinary care.
$16,000 Day rate for licensed veterinarians to travel to HIHS to provide low
cost care.
$1,600 per day to cover 10 days.
Total Funds Requested $50,000
A copy of the new draft of Resolution No. 141-25 that will result if these proposed amendments
are adopted is not attached.
