B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Department of of Research and Development commissioned a contractor to conduct a survey of agricultural
producers on their needs to increase and improve their production and businesses. Within 24 hours, the
contractor received 268 responses. Increasing the number of Extension Agents to provide technical
assistance was one of the top responses. In response, the R&D has included funding in its budget to support
this response by the agricultural producers.
