RESOLUTION NO. 209 25
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE HAWAI`I POLICE DEPARTMENT
WITH PURCHASING EQUIPMENT TO PROMOTE PUBLIC SAFETY.
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Police Department is committed to providing the highest
quality of police service by enforcing the law,protecting the peace, forming partnerships with
the community,preserving the aloha spirit, and making Hawai`i Island a safe place to live,visit,
and conduct business; and
WHEREAS,the Hawaii Police Department is requesting equipment that will assist the
department with keeping the public safe during active investigations and pursuits; and
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Police Department is requesting funds to purchase surveillance
equipment, drones,remotes, and battery packs; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Police
Department to assist with the purchase of equipment to promote public safety.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
