HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 202 Draft 01 2024-2026A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI DEPARTMENT OF
PARKS AND RECREATION WITH THE OCEAN VIEW COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION, INC., LOCATED AT 92-8924 LEILANI CIRCLE, OCEAN VIEW ESTATES, IN KA‘Ū, HAWAIʻI.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation desires to enter into a lease with the Ocean View Community Association, Inc. for the weekly use of its premises located at 92-8924 Leilani
Circle, Ocean View Estates, Ka‘ū, Hawaiʻi, for the purpose of the County of Hawaiʻi Elderly Activities Program, Adult Nutrition Services; and
WHEREAS, the lease will commence on July 1, 2025, and will end on June 30, 2027, with an option to extend the lease for an additional one-year period; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease with the Ocean View Communication Association, Inc., as indicated
herein; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that the Honorable C. Kimo Alameda, Ph.D., Mayor of the County of Hawai‘i, is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year lease
with the Ocean View Community Association, Inc., commencing July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2027, with an option to extend the lease for an additional one-year period.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the lease.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to: (1) Mayor C. Kimo Alameda, Ph.D.; (2) Department of Finance; (3) Department of Parks and Recreation;
(4) J Yoshimoto, Assistant Corporation Counsel, and (5) the Ocean View Community Association, Inc., Marilyn Rose, President, P.O. Box 6016, Ocean View, Hawaiʻi 96737.
