A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE HAWAIʻI POLICE DEPARTMENT
WITH PURCHASING EQUIPMENT TO PROMOTE PUBLIC SAFETY.
WHEREAS, the Hawaiʻi Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality of police service by enforcing the law, protecting the peace, forming partnerships with the community,
preserving the aloha spirit, and making Hawaiʻi Island a safe place to live, visit, and conduct business; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaiʻi Police Department is requesting equipment that will assist the department with keeping the public safe during active investigations and pursuits; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaiʻi Police Department is requesting funds to purchase surveillance equipment, drones, remotes, and battery packs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Hawaiʻi Police Department to assist with the
purchase of equipment to promote public safety.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
