Give back a setback in Bill 24. P/90WED 1i[► Z WHH.110 Legislation is a precious thing. Even a few words in a law can make a society stand strong against malice. No doubt the opposite is also true — even a few words may function (down the line) to support malicious deeds. Today, when we are beset by many tricksters (are we not?), it is imperative to look carefully at what might become a horrible situation, caused by an ill -thought -of new statute or policy. I was brought here by a warning from Michelle Melendez who lives on Big Island and seems to know what she is doing. I confess to not having studied the proposed Plan up close. Yet I can say that I have studied two situations in Hawaii that make me doubt the good intentions — or even the mental capacity — of office -holders within the state of Hawaii, including at the city level or the bureaucratic level. Here are the two situations that 'got me.' First, the government's decision to release genetically altered mosquitoes, by the billions. The stated purpose is to save an endangered species of Hawaiian bird. There is currently a lawsuit against this activity, organized by a true patriot on Maui, Tina Lia, but the releasing of the mozzies is taking place anyway. One does not need a medical degree or a lifetime of environmental protection work to know that the mozzie thing is stupid and absurd. Oh, really? So why is it being done? It has to be malice. People are embarrassed to say so. I am not embarrassed, indeed I would be remorseful if I did not utter it in plain English: the mozzie thing is malicious. (Look at world history, there are plenty of things done by mistaken judgement but many by malice. It is therefore not wrong to open that discussion.) The second thing that makes me certain that Hawaii lawmakers and officials are not acting in a manner that protects the people, is the Lahaina fire of August 8, 2023. This time (unlike the mozzie backers who say the good moral reason for it is the protection of a bird species) no one dares utter a word of argument to say "Lahaina needed to be destroyed. It was an OK idea." Instead, government and media have supplied a narrative to hide the truth. They say "The fire was natural." No it wasn't. It, was a super -hi -tech event. There is no shortage of evidence that would prove this awful fact, were a debate to take place, or were someone put on trial for it. The whole nation has seen, on YouTube, and arborist from'Maui, who says the Lahaina fire could not, have been a natural fire, as the trees burned in a weird way. By chance he had also cermat. ° O.. I, ✓ 0 Ref. fey: Ref. ©age A� ® 025 investigated the fires in California and says that that they, too, are not natural. (The likelihood is that Directed Energy Weapons, DEW, were involved, perhaps by satellite.) There is a book by locals, Stephanie Pierucci and Shelby Hosana, entitled Burn Back Better. Its back cover states: "The fire in Lahaina was not due to a random event but to a planned one." That book presents loads of evidence for malice. So why haven't a hundred Lahaina deaths mandated an Inquest? I am a dual citizen of US and Australia. Both countries act the same way when an outrageous event takes place. Information is diligently stifled. Even court cases are worked on dishonestly! The media celebrate the lies. I grant that this letter does not focus sufficiently on the case before you today. But I am hoping someone in the room has the guts to take a broad approach to the problem. Indeed, taking a worldwide approach would be a good idea. The alternative to big -think is that participants will get bogged down in the details, and the voting will seem to be on details. My recommendation is that you make a decision to postpone the new Plan. Thank you very much for letting me comment. I realize my words look obnoxious and I apologize for offending anyone. It is only guesswork on my part, but I offer it anyway, as follows: I think that native Hawaiians had the best (best by a longshot) penchant for, and methodology for, serious protest. Like the Maori of New Zealand, the indigenous population can see through imperialism, and can stand up for its own noble values, particularly the Aina. Th whole world could see, thanks to YouTube, how hundreds of individuals came together, with music, to say No to the constructing of a giant telescope on sacred land. If I were a member of The Powers That Be, I'd have panicked. So I'm guessing that they did in fact panic, and set about to make sure that such ornery behavior by citizens does not happen again. "We'll show'em1" "We'll cancel their tourist industry with a plague of mosquitos." "We'll do shocking DEW murder on Maui so that those cock -sure native leaders will lose family members and decide that their dreams are hopeless." Mahalo.
