Subject: Opposition to Bill 47
To: Hawaii County Council
I am adamantly opposed to Bill 47. It is pre -mature to the financial analysis being performed; an unnecessary burden on
your constituent; impossible to enforce; and most importantly not the will of the people.
The county agreed to conduct a financial analysis of the STVR business as a whole. This is being done using tax payer
money. No demands on the owner of STVR's should made until this report is complete and submitted.
The county is asking STVR owners to pay $250 and register for something that does not even exist. Many of us support
the "buy local" produce business and simply can't afford to be burdened further by a cost that has no merit.
Third party managers such as Airbnb and Vrbo can not comply with your request for monthly report on thousands of
STVR. They are GLOBAL organizations.
Lastly, your are elected officials. We elected you to represent us. The overwhelming opposition to this bill by the people
must be heard. It is the council's obligation to listen and act on our behalf not on special interest groups such as large
hotel owners.
