-No mixed
use HOME insurance available in Lava zone 1-2
= "
Contiguous lots were almost approved, as this would have resolved the
issue for some; or allow unhosted in certain areas to be registered in this
round so we can keep our home insurence
-East side is not the problem. Have plenty rentals low priced homes and plenty to
choose from. Vacation Rentals are NOT causing your "HOUSING CRISIS" IN PUNA
—Cart before horse. VDAs need to be in place first Why put us out of business, only to
open the door with a VDA in 4-5 years. That would be too late for most of us.
—Shutting down immediately for a violation, that would force us to cancel vacationers travel
plans last minute. Why Should they suffer? Existing reservations stand, but no new ones
—Rules need to be set first. We shouldn't be forced to pay $1000 only to be put out of business
AND there needs to be a workable system to bring properties into that compliance once the rules
are decided, whatever those rule may be. (like a Code Compliance division in Building dept. Same
as MANY other counties and cities do)
-THIS IS SERIOUSLY SIDESTEPPING THE PROCESS IN THE CHARTER. Planning is too
involved to ignore their importance and we need to hear their interpretation, and they too need
clarification. We ALL do.
-What is the rush??
You simply MUST BE FAIR THIS IS TOO
RUSHED and doesn't follow the charter p(
