Subject: Bill 47: Hurts Homeowners trying to survive on the island.
--
Dear Members of the City Council,
am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill47, which I understand is being streamlined through
the system in what 1 believe to be in an unethical manner.
The control and manipulation that this bill attempts to exert over hardworking homeowners is an
infringement on our freedoms as Americans and loyal community supporters, who gladly pay all required
state and local taxes involved in renting our homes which should satisfy all administrative control by the
government.
My father and I have been working hard, repairing our family home for the past 1.5 years to become a
hosted STVR. We are doing this only as a necessity for needed retirement income. It has been so
discouraging to hear the county attempting to control and manipulate families who must rent their own
homes to make ends meet. I hope and pray the council will focus its attention on more pressing matters
that affect our community.
It appears the main purpose for targeting owner occupied STVR's is for more county income. It saddens
me a great deal, knowing our council and county will target families trying to survive on the
island. Together, we can come up with better, more positive solutions for county income so this
unethical business; targeting hard-working owner occupied STVR's can finally be put to rest allowing
families to live without worry and fear about the future in this matter.
Sincerely,
Ms. T. Morishige
