Aloha,
I am writing in opposition to Bill 47. 1 invite you to join me and many others in opposing this legislative money
grab.
I am all for registration, that makes sense. A fee that makes sense and fines that make sense. This Bill does
not state clearly, it's purpose, it's plan, or how it serves the people who are currently running legal STVRs in
Hawaii county.
Bill 47 does nothing to support the people who have paid their taxes, worked hard, and served as
ambassadors of Aloha encouraging our dwindling visitor population to spend local and respect local. It
regulates fear, not trust.
This summer I will "host" my grandchildren, who tell their teachers on the mainland their grandma and
grandma own a "hotel" in Hawaii. So cute! They look forward to staying at our hotel this summer (well, they
will sleep in the upstairs bedroom and their parents will have the "hotel" room). They are ages 8 and 7 and
this is the first time they will visit their grandma and grandpa in Hawaii (finally!). They will learn someday this
"hotel" will be passed on to them. I hope this is true. That I will have something to leave my
grandchildren. That I will have an income in the meantime so I can continue to make the 3 times a year trips
to the mainland to visit them.
I'm not only running a business; I'm building a legacy. One stay at a time. Please stay with the people on this
one and not the spinning of old data, irrelevant data, and run amuck ideas.
Let's get everybody registered.
Let's establish fee schedules that are reasonable.

Let's enforce what's already on the books and see what else may be needed via responsible data collection
that is relevant to our county.
Let's keep local, local and keep the hardworking people of Hawaii County working. 86- 47. Kill this bill.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Tomaszewski
