I've operated our BnB in Captain Cook for more than 15 years. We love what we do and so do our guests
(9.6 review rating on Booking dot com.) We give our visitors something that the big hotels cannot --
personalization. (Ours is called A Beautiful Edge of the World and has been in legal operation since we
began-- legalized as a result of going before the Planning Commission years ago.) Know that I've paid
LOTS of GE and TA tax over the years to both the state and now to the county. Additional Monthly
reporting seems like just another governmental imposed burden. It seems payment of County TA should
suffice. I don't know if the bill can be modified. Anyway, please do what you can to support our vital
industry.
I'm glad that you consider cracking down on illegal and non -tax paying short term rentals. As they say
around here: "GEEEV UM"
