Re: Resolution for a multi -year agreement

Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi -year license agreement with
the Trustees of the Estate of Bernice Pauahi Bishop to enter onto and use a portion of the land in
Keahou, Ka`u, Hawaii designated by Tax Map Key (3) 9-9-001-034 for the purposes of
operation and maintenance of a non -manned communications facility, including a 300 foot
tower. The annual license fees will be approximately $5,000 plus applicable taxes.

A. REQUEST:
Requesting approval for a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a five (5) year license agreement
with the Trustees of the Estate of Bemire Pauahi Bishop to enter onto and use a portion of the land located
in Keauhou, Kau, Hawaii (TMK (3) 9-9-001-034) for the Kulani Cone radio tower and facility.
-- B.-BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): V
Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency desires to enter into a multi -year license agreement with the the
Trustees of the Estate of Bernice Pauahi Bishop for a period of five (5) years beginning on December 1,
2024 to November 30, 2029; to enter onto and use a portion of the land in Keahou, Ka'u, Hawaii (TMK (3) 9-
9-001-034) solely for the purposes of operation and maintenance of a non -manned, communications facility,
including a 300ft. tower. The annual license fees will be $5,000.00 plus State of Hawaii General Excise Tax.
