COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 221 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH <br />KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br />RELATED TO THE KOHALA RESILIENCE HUB SUMMER KEIKI CAMP. <br />WHEREAS, summer camps provide opportunities for children and teens to learn and <br />grow during school breaks; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kohala Resilience Hub Summer Keiki Camp provides children with <br />educational and creative opportunities during the summer, offering cultural, artistic, and <br />recreational activities; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization, is working in partnership with the organizers of the Kohala Resilience Hub <br />Summer Keiki Camp to provide a safe, enjoyable, and educational summer camp experience for <br />Kohala keiki; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center requests funding to assist <br />with activities such as ballet, hula, taiko drumming, hip hop, ceramics, line dancing, art, archery, <br />and performing arts, as well as art supplies and meals for the Kohala Resilience Hub Summer <br />Keiki Camp; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this project as it is in keeping <br />with the goals and objectives of the department to support public programs that provide Hawaii <br />County residents, especially young people, with fun activities in a safe, drug- and alcohol -free <br />environment; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to assist with <br />expenses related to the Kohala Resilience Hub Summer Keiki Camp. <br />
