COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 323/Res. No. 206-25
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 206-25, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 206-25, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication
No. 323, dated May 15, 2025, authorizes the payment of funds of later fiscal years to enter into a multi-
year lease agreement for one asphalt distributor truck to be used by the Department of Public Works.
This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five-year lease agreement with an approximate total
monthly cost of $4,644.22, to be used for construction, resurfacing, and maintenance projects.
Public Works Business Manager Kelsey Kalua-Lewis commented that having the right amount of
resources around the island will help their department do continuous work.
Committee Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi asked if this was a lease to own. Ms. Kalua-Lewis
confirmed that it is.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 206-25, and
recommends its adoption.
