COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 316/Res. No. 199-25
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 199-25, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 199-25, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication
No. 316, dated May 15, 2025, awards nine stewardship grants from the Public Access, Open Space, and
Natural Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund as recommended by the Director of Finance for the
fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
This resolution authorizes the Director of Finance to provide Public Access, Open Space, and Natural
Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund Stewardship grants totaling $838,203.08 to organizations,
pursuant to Section 10-16(h) of the Hawaii County Charter.
Deputy Finance Director Malia Kekai was present in Chambers.
Committee Member Holeka Goro Inaba commented in support and thanked the Finance Department for
providing the grant information of how awards are going to be spent.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 199-25, and
recommends its adoption.
