Re: Nomination of Gilbert J. Aguinaldo of Council District 5 to the Merit Appeals Board
Aloha Chair Inaba and Council Members:
I am pleased to nominate Mr. Gilbert J. Aguinaldo from Council District 5 to the Merit Appeals
Board.
Mr. Aguinaldo is a husband, father, and lifelong resident of the Puna district. Raised in P5hoa,
he has a strong connection to the community and the island that shaped him. He is a self-
employed licensed contractor and holds an Associate of Science Degree from Hawaii
Community College.
Mr. Aguinaldo has an impressive record of service. He is a dedicated volunteer who actively
contributes to our island community. Our County would greatly benefit from his involvement. If
confirmed, Mr. Aguinaldo's term will end on December 31, 2027.
