Subject: I support Communication 159.41 to amend Bill No. 32, Draft 2.
I support Communication 159.41 to amend Bill No. 32, Draft 2. About providing an additional exit road for Waikoloa
Village.
I live in Waikoloa, along with 7500 other people. While there are single road communities in other places on the island,
there is a significant population center here - at THE most wild -fire prone area on the island, indeed in the entire state.
The last evacuation, it took some of us almost an hour on the one road just to get to the East-West road to the coast.
And that was with people leaving until almost 3 pm, when the warning was canceled, because the evacuation
communication was equivocal.
If a fire happened in the morning & there were a clear signal to leave, I can't imagine how long it would take thousands
of cars to get out of here at the same time.
Please vote in favor of Bill No. 32, Draft 2.
