Aloha Esteemed Hawai'i County Council,
I am a resident in Kona and I support Memo 1 to amend Bill 31 Draft 3, which will provide $2 million in funds to the
Department of Research and Development to create a mechanism for funding for food security and resiliency programs
for our County. This is particularly necessary considering expected federal and state cuts to SNAP, other food programs,
and low-income support services.

Office of Housing and Community Development towards their housing production fund and specifically to provide
additional support for affordable housing, which is an urgent need in our County.
