Aloha,
We, Kupuna for the Mo`opuna, a hui of Hawaiian Homes Commission Act kupuna
beneficiary farmers from Pana`ewa, Hawaii, testify in STRONG SUPPORT of Bill 44. We
respectfully request your support for and passage of Bill 44 as this bill will provide much
needed relief and be of great benefit to our Hawaii Island homesteaders. Bill 44 would
also better align with the policies and considerations of the other counties in this State
with regards to property tax rates for Hawaiian Home Lands beneficiaries. Mahalo nui loa
to Council Member Inaba (District 8) and Council Member Hustace (District 9) for
authoring this bill.
